storyboard
Receiving the storyboard early in the process gave us a clear foundation and allowed us to dive straight into the core of the project. The vision was a full-scale dinosaur adventure park—think Jurassic Park energy, just without Jeff Goldblum.
Using Unreal Engine, we rapidly built the environments and blocked out the key action sequences. This early previs stage helped guide the live-action shoot and ensured every shot would integrate seamlessly with the final CG plates.
Mood & concepts
Creating the Look and Feel
Concept boards are essential for defining the visual direction of a project. They allow us to quickly test ideas, explore different moods, and establish how the final animation will look before production begins.
Generative AI in the Workflow
The backgrounds for this project were created using Midjourney, generating atmospheric plates that shaped the overall environment. The visual style drew inspiration from Nestlé commercials and real-world waterfalls. With generative AI speeding up experimentation, we can now explore more creative variations in a fraction of the time.
water challenges
Houdini played a crucial role in bringing this project to life. Using its advanced particle simulation tools, we were able to create highly realistic water behaviour that closely matched real-world motion. Achieving the right look required extensive testing and fine-tuning before integrating everything seamlessly into Unreal Engine.
The white-water effects were created using a clever technique that’s almost impossible to spot at a glance—an animated texture layered over the simulated water. This approach allowed us to achieve the desired level of visual detail while still delivering the project efficiently within the available time and budget.
